Welcome to Nokomis Drama's Blog!

Hello everyone! The purpose of this blog is to make information about current and upcoming drama meetings and events more accessible including, hopefully, rehearsal calendars, production dates, and so on!

As we move towards the fall of 2008, I would like to ask all Nokomis Drama students to help me in finding our first play of the season. The parameters of the search are:

1. plays with large casts,

2. a variable of male and female roles,

3. and which will fit the space of our stage (though as most of you know, we have been very successful in using the stage in new and interesting ways) and the "space" of our audience.

Please post comments about plays you have read here. Happy hunting!

Hey everyone. I hope you are all having a good summer. I don't really have any specific plays in mind, but I would like to do something that has already been done, you know? And something that isn't Romeo and Juliet (haha loser Jeremy), or any other Shakespeare.

The Last Days of Judas Iscariot! ... I dunno, my friend told me to recommend it... ^^;

RENT has plenty of boy/girl parts, y'know :D >> <<;;

I would mind Shakespeare. :] But for the love of God, not Romeo and Juliet D:

Hm. I really need to read more plays. Because I don't, ever. SOOOOO, that's all I've got.

I've got OUR TOWN on my list to re-read this summer (I'm not even sure I've ever read it, though I saw a production at La Jolla Playhouse.) I don't have any Shakespeare that comes to mind - anyone have any suggestions?

Our Town. I've read it, and I really liked it. But when I saw it, I thought it was a better read than a show to watch. But it does have a lot of male and female parts, and it would be really cheap to put up because it doesn't call for many props and set pieces.
